This week in LA, Epic is flying a 40 x 30-foot inflatable version of the Battle Bus -- the aircraft which gamers parachute from at the start of a Fortnite match -- to foster the game and Epic's star and streamer tournament.
The biggest movie and game of the second are about to collide. Today, Epic Games revealed a brand new, limited time event coming to its battle royale game Fortnite, which will feature Avengers: Infinity War baddie Thanos. The crossover will come in the form of a new style -- creatively known as"Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mashup" -- at which gamers will be able to scour the map to attempt to collect the Infinity Gauntlet comprising all six Infinity Stones, which when outfitted turn you into Thanos and give an important boost of power. We do not yet know whether the gauntlet will be randomly placed on the map or found at a distinct location.
In accordance with Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo, the pair are big fans of the game, and they'd often slip in rounds of Fortnite while viewing the film. This, then, led to the notion for a mashup. "Out of the blue, I get this call from Joe. And after a bit of geeking out over each other's work, we start brainstorming these crazy thoughts," Epic creative manager Donald Mustard told Entertainment Weekly. "More Fortnite News was really important that anything we did, it was super authentic to both Fortnite along with the Avengers: Infinity War, and something which fans of both would be enthused about."
